ADHD & Exercise: Exploring Benefits & Barriers

Are you interested in understanding how ADHD and Exercise are connected?

Join us as we learn from Nate how and why exercise benefits individuals with ADHD, as well as how socioeconomic intersections with ADHD may create obstacles to beginning exercise.

About Our Speaker:

Nate Montey (he/they) is a CSEP certified personal trainer and NASM corrective exercise specialist who works with primarily ADHD and Autistic Adults. As a human with ADHD and Autism that is part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, he found his way to personal training due to a need for a fitness support system of their own.

Within the neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ populations, Nate has found a need for strategies that support accommodating and, when possible, taking advantage of an individual’s neurodivergence. Additionally, they have found a growing need for considerations for co occurring health conditions, such as hypermobility and POTS.They believe in creating access and equity in the fitness space through compassionate and trauma-informed fitness that understands that someone’s “best” is unique to them and isn’t always readily found in a research paper.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his community, playing video games, painting miniatures, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Tickets are free on Eventbrite here, however there is a donation option should you wish to do so.
