The prevalence of comorbidity in children and adolescents is about 33% but it increases to almost 66% in adults with ADHD. This presentation will help you understand the various comorbid conditions and their importance in being diagnosed and treated. These include Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorder, Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, Obesity, and Sleep Disorders. Understanding and addressing these associated conditions are essential for improving outcomes for adults with ADHD. Trying to treat ADHD without addressing the comorbid conditions most often lead to poor outcomes.
