SUMMARY:GUEST SPEAKER! – Kamala Randhawa - More Than a Hot Mess: Understanding Women & ADHD
DESCRIPTION:More Than a Hot Mess: Understanding Women & ADHD\nWomen with ADHD are often overlooked or misdiagnosed because their symptoms tend to be more internalized— This session explores ADHD in women\nthrough the interplay of nervous system regulation\, identity\, and lived experience.\n  \nAbout The Event \n\n\n\n\n\nWomen with ADHD are often overlooked or misdiagnosed because their symptoms tend to be more internalized—showing up as overwhelm\, emotional intensity\, chronic self-\ndoubt\, and the constant effort to “hold it all together.” Many are labeled as anxious\, scattered\, or inconsistent\, without recognition of the underlying neurobiology. \nHormonal fluctuations further complicate this picture\, as changes in estrogen can directly impact dopamine levels—affecting focus\, mood\, and executive functioning across the menstrual cycle\, postpartum\, and into perimenopause. This session brings a different lens: instead of focusing on productivity or trying harder\, it explores ADHD in women through the interplay of nervous system regulation\, identity\, and lived experience\, offering a more accurate and sustainable way to understand and support how women actually function. \n\nAbout our speaker: \nKamala Randhawa is an ADHD coach and international speaker known for her\ngrounded\, real-world approach to supporting women with ADHD. She has worked with\nindividuals\, parents\, educators\, and both municipal and provincial organizations to\ndeepen understanding of neurodivergence and create more supportive environments.\nBlending lived experience with a nervous-system-informed perspective\, Kamala helps women move beyond overwhelm and inconsistency toward clarity\, capacity\, and self-\ntrust. \nShe also serves on the Advisory Board for the Women’s ADHD Centre. \n\n*Tickets are free on Eventbrite here; however\, we gratefully accept donations from those who are able to help. Every donation goes towards helping individuals affected by ADHD. If you would like to donate there is an option to do so on the ticket page.
